CONTAINERS are how we share data in MY8. We map ITEMS to containers and we can set the accessibility of the CONTAINER and the ITEMS associated with it. Containers are viewed by accessing the unique URL for that Container. Each Container has a unique (to you) SUB CODE to refer to it by. An Item can be mapped to any number of Containers. If the VALUE of an Item changes, the new Value is reflected in every Container that Item is mapped to.

Containers have a Container Owner; You will be the Container Owner of any Containers you create and you'll have full control over them. Containers owned by others, such as the MY8 system or third parties may have limitations set by the owners as to what you can do with them.

When you register for a MY8 account, the process generates a few standard Containers for you.

DEFAULT - the container that is accessible when only the MY8 code (no sub code) is specified; SHERLOCK's is https://my8.io/sherlock and you have full control over this Container; the name, the description, who can see it, what Items are mapped to it and so on

IDENTITY - this Container has all the ITEMS that are created when you register and is necessary for the operation of your account so you can't delete it. You can change the VALUES of the ITEMS in this Container, but you cannot remove them from the Container or delete the ITEMS.

CONTACT - useful ways to contact you; you can delete or edit this container as you see fit.

EMERGENCY - as you might guess, this Container is designed for Emergencies. You can edit or delete this container as you see fit, but it might be invaluable if you are incapacitated and unable to provide information that would be vital to your care.

VERIFICATION - upload images of driving licence, passport, utility bills etc, the sort of documents that are often requested to help prove your Identity.
